Two of the club’s Cadet members, Alice and Joe Burford, are doing exceedingly well too – Joe (14 yrs old) is currently in the RYA National Junior Topper Squad, but in his first ever event in the Laser 4.7 in Weymouth a couple of weeks ago, he came 4th overall out of 58 and was offered a place at the Laser 4.7 European Championships as part of the British Team.  And last weekend at Rutland, he came 4th overall to qualify for the RYA National Laser 4.7 Junior Squad; the RYA have offered him the choice to transfer to that squad from the Topper, which he has chosen to do.  On June 4th, Alice (17 yrs old) is competing in the Sail For Gold regatta at Weymouth, where she will be competing in a very tough event against the world’s best Olympic women in the Laser Radial.   She has also just been selected to represent Britain at the Laser Radial Worlds in La Rochelle in France.  Well done, Alice and Joe – we are all very proud of you.
