Dear Members,

We are now well into the sailing season and fortunately the weather has been on the whole, kind to us.

The Club has been very busy particularly at weekends and our new Chef, Jonathon Rhead, is attracting a great deal of attention with his quality food.  This has been enjoyed by members and visiting yachtsmen.

At the end of the Fowey Classics Week the Club enjoyed the company of some of our yachting friends from the French Yacht Club Classique.  They had decided to start their race to Brest from Fowey as part of the “Coupe de Trois Phares” (three lighthouses) which takes place every 10 years!  There was an exchange of burgees and a great deal of goodwill on the evening before they left.

Regatta Week has just finished and was a great success despite the lively weather towards the end of the week.  It was an occasion to renew old relationships and make new ones.

Our Vice Commodore, Cdr Chris Morgan, who is also the Race Director, and his team must be congratulated for their excellent organisation throughout the week.

If you are not taking part may I recommend a Saturday lunch on the terrace to watch the racing.
